it took me about 3 months to read this book. I just couldn't get into it. the characters didn't appeal to me or make me feel connected at all. there was nothing in the story line that got me hooked. I could easily read a chapter and be ready to put it away and go right to sleep. the one thing I did enjoy about this book was the insight it gave you to the life of illegal immigrants.
I did finish it though. go me! I always put books away when I am bored and never touch them again. but, I followed through with my commitment. I finished The Tortilla Curtain. and because I did, I can for sure tell you not to read it. just don't. thanks.
